Objectives:

This project was a super challenging one for me as it forced me to make very different design decisions than what I'm used to. Our history class was super focused on type and how its influence has spread across generations. Our goal for this project was to bring that feel into a newfound series or different era. I chose Star Wars because I love the dread that the Empire inspires and the Jedi and Sith always reminded me of ancient Chinese warriors.

Strategies:

This inspired my creative direction and I had to find a way to replicate the breaking of ink on the old Chinese manuscripts and the power of the Empire within the same piece. With a disintegrating effect and symbols that represent large themes in both movies (Emperor, betrayal) I accomplished my goal. Super challenging and incredibly fun; one of my favorite designs to date.
